Spectre is the 24th James Bond film, produced by Eon Productions for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and released on November 6, 2015. It stars Daniel Craig as James Bond, with Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.The movie is set seven years after the events of Skyfall, with Bond investigating an organization called Spectre that has been orchestrating terror attacks on MI6. The film premiered in London on 12 November 2015. It went into general release in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 14 November 2015. It premiered at 34th Moscow International Film Festival on 4 October 2016. Sony Pictures Releasing France distributed Spectre internationally except Belgium and Netherlands, where Sony Pictures Entertainment Belgium and Netherlands distribute Spectre. In February 2012, Eon Productions issued a casting call for a female "suave, intelligent and sexy" villain. In August, the casting call was amended to include two other women: Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci. On 4 January 2013, it was confirmed that Christoph Waltz would star as Franz Oberhauser, a retired Nazi official who has been living in Polynesia since 1947 under a false identity. Waltz did not meet Craig in person prior to the announcement of his casting. His full name was thought to be "Emil Rosensträter", but Waltz informed the press he is actually his real name. Principal photography began on 17 January 2013 in London, at Pinewood Studios and was also shot at the Villa del Balbianello, Italy. While there was a choice of filming locations in London, including Buckingham Palace, Eon Productions filmed the opening sequence for Bond's 80th birthday at Ballinrobe Castle in County Mayo, Ireland. The outdoor scenes were filmed on Ballinrobe's gardens and the Long Walk. In addition to Ireland, Spectre also was shot at studios Pinewood as well as London's Bute House on Loch Ness adjoining Pinewood Studios. Filming took place up until 3 February 2013. On 7 October 2014 it was reported that filming had begun in Kauai, Hawaii. On 20 January 2015 it was reported that filming was taking place at the Villa di Pamphili, Tivoli, Italy.On 11 October 2016, the final trailer for the film was revealed. It released on 25 December 2016. Spectre premiered at The Royal Albert Hall in London on 12 November 2015. On 2 December 2015, it was announced that Spectre would be released in 3D and IMAX 3D only in the United States and China respectively. The film opened theatrically in North America on 6 November 2015 in Imax IMAX and 20 other countries around the world by Sony Entertainment Pictures with select international territories being handled by local distributors.
